Comment
Camillo Procaccini's drawing of St Francis, in the Archer M. Huntington Art Gallery, Austin, Texas, is similar to the figure in his original etching. However, Bohn in TIB noted it is in the same direction, therefore was probably not a preparatory study for the print but rather for a painting of the same subject. For Procaccini's paintings representing the Stigmatization of St Francis, see Bohn in TIB. The original print by Procaccini shows the influence of Agostino Carracci's and Federico Barocci's engravings of this subject.
