Comment
After Giulio Romano's drawing in reverse, preserved in the Louvre, inv. no. 3468, related with one of Raphael's tapestries of the series Scuola Nuova, designed primarily by his assistants. The only differences between the drawing and the print are in the background landscape, and the woman standing at right in the drawing is absent from the print. Massari in Rome 1993, no. 157 claims the manner of engraving suggests Diana Scultori's hand. The print appears in Lafreri's inventory of 1572, therefore Massari assumes the date 1575 inscribed on the print was added later.
