Comment
Derives from Giulio Romano's drawing for a stucco in the Sala degli Stucchi, Palazzo del Te, Mantua. Related to a drawing by Giulio once in the Ellesmere Collection, sold at Sotheby's London in 1972. He may have become acquainted with Giulio's works during a supposed visit to Mantua early in his career, and certainly during his long Roman stay.
