Comment
This is one of the two prints by Fontana with the dedication to Johannes Thomas de Spaur, bishop of Bressanone from June 1565 to 1580. According to Dillon in Verona 1980, the etching is related with Lucas van Leyden's triptych of 1527 (Leyden, Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal), as well as with El Greco's Allegory of the Lega Santa, of c. 1579 (Madrid, Escorial).
