Comment
Based upon the Anchises group in the fresco of the Fire in the Borgo in the Vatican Palace, designed and executed by Raphael between 1514-17. A drawing in the Albertina (Bd. V. 4881), variously attributed to Raphael and Giulio Romano, may have served as Caraglio's immediate source. Before Bartsch the print was attributed to Marcantonio Raimondi.
