Comment
The print reproduces the scene of Mercury and Psyche in a lunette of the Sala di Psiche in the Villa Farnesina in Rome, designed by Raphael and probably executed by Giulio Romano in 1518. The engraving was probably executed after a drawing attributed to Giulio Romano now in Chatsworth, inv. no. 54. The print was later published by Michele Lucchese, this first state is rare.
