Comment
Bartsch thought it was after an antique relief. It derives from Parmigianino's drawing in reverse, today inat Windsor, inv. no. 0534, made between 1524-27 and inspired by a frieze by Baldassare Peruzzi (Popham 1971, I, 642, p. 194). A copy of the pendant to this drawing is in the Louvre, inv. no. 6535, Popham 1971, p. 236, no. 26, of which Bonasone also made an engraving (Bartsch XV.353.173).
