Derives from Parmigianinio's drawing in the Louvre, inv. no. 6415 bis, see A. E. Popham, Catalogue of Drawings by Parmigianino, 1971, vol. I, p. 142, no. 395. The theme is part of a series drawn by Parmigianino in 1524-30. Engraved in the same direction also by the Master FP (Bartsch XVI. 27.26).
