The composition is close to Giulio Romano's fresco in the Sala di Costantino in the Vatican, executed after Raphael's design. Bartsch suggested that the print follows a lost drawing by Raphael, a discarded idea for Giulio's fresco. Inventory Number 6433 Classification Prints: Italian: 16th century: Mounted II |
