Bartsch thought it was Giulio Bonasone's invention, but Massari argues it was made after Polidoro da Caravaggio. Cirillo Archer in TIB adds that it is typical of the compositions by Polidoro for facade frescoes in Rome during the 1520s and claims that there are anomalies in the iconography and inscription of the print. Related in subject to Cherubino Alberti's engraving (Bartsch XVIII.85.108).
