Comment
A variant of Bartsch XVI.60.58 in reverse, which is an earlier (c. 1542-46) and more Parmigianinesque work. Dillon claims that the composition also recalls Schiavone's Mystic Marriage of St Catherine, see our inv. no. 6319; the child is close to Schiavone's other print, after George Reverdy (Bartsch XV.470.9). According to Chiara Callegari's note on the mat, it is a second state impression.
