Comment
The print illustrates Psalm 85:10-11. It was the earliest of Agostino' Carraccis engravings after Orazio Samacchini. It derives from Samacchini's drawing in the Albertina, Vienna, inv. no. 2032, which served as a model for the engraving. For the iconography of the print, see New Haven 1986-87, where it is titled Charity, Justice, Truth and Peace. In its first state, the engraving was dated 1579 and the inscription did not name Sammacchini.
