Similarly to Bartsch XVII.110.136, inv. no. 6055, this print had also been grouped with the erotic series Lascivie (Bartsch XVII.107.123 to XVII.109.135), but Bartsch described it separately. The composition was influenced by Titian's painting Tarquin and Lucretia in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
