Comment
After a lost painting by Paolo Veronese. The print was made during Agostino Carracci's first Venetian stay between 1582-83. Bartsch followed Malvasia in attributing the verses to Carracci himself, which is significant in because of the controversy that surrounded Agostino's activity as a poet.
