For the series, see inv. no. 6009. This is the most explicit of the series, which accounts for its rarity. According to Bohn in TIB, this may also explain the date 1559 on the second state, probably added by Agostino Carracci to disavow his authorship. It is also possible that the date was added by an uninformed publisher.
