For the series, see inv. no. 6009. Bohlin noted that the print was probably influenced by Marcantonio Raimondi's Judgement of Paris. There is a preparatory sketch by Agostino Carracci in the Kunstmuseum, Düsseldorf, inv. no. FP 3814.
