Comment
The date and function of this print has been disputed. While Bohlin argued that the shape of the object indicates a headpiece worn on a festival, Bohn in TIB claims it is rather a design for a fan. Agostino Carracci's preparatory drawing, probably used for direct transfer onto the plate, is in a private collection, London, see illustration in TIB.
