Comment
The series was engraved after the façade decoration of the Palazzo Milesi, Rome, painted by Polidoro da Caravaggio shortly before 1527. This is the first set of prints made after the famous vases on the second floor level. The series was published by Cherubino Alberti himself in 1582 in Rome. Christopher L. C. E. Witcombe 2008 demonstrates that the ten plates were part of a larger group of thirty-four plates by Alberti which were reprinted in 1628. Four of the ten plates are preserved today in the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica, Rome.
