Comment
Probably after Giulio Romano's unknown drawing, inspired by an antique relief. Massari in Rome 1993 supposed it was perhaps Giovanni Battista Scultori, Giulio's co-worker at Palazzo del Te, Mantua, who transmitted the painter's drawing to be engraved by his son Adamo Scultori. On the verso of the plate, Adamo engraved the Lion Attacking a Horse (Bartsch XV.429.107, see inv. no. 5320).
