Schäfer, Dorit and Vollmer, Angela, exhibition catalogue, Karlsruhe, Staatliche Kunsthalle 2005 Comment The plates of the series, numbered in their second state, show the main attractions of the park of Pratolino proceeding from south to north. There is no consensus about the dating: De Vesme dates it around 1653 (De Vesme and Massar 1971) similarly to Caroline Joubert (Caen 1998), while according to Jessica Mack-Andrick it was made in the second half of the 1650s (Karlsruhe 2005). The plates were preserved in Florentine collections at the end of the eighteenth century, and new impressions were made to illustrate Bernardone Sansone Sgrilli's Descrizione della reale villa, fontane e fabbriche di Pratolino, Florence 1742.
