Comment
The series of 21 prints was attributed by Bartsch to Andrea Schiavone, whom he distinguished from Andrea Meldolla. Later scholars suggested that the printmaker was Battista del Moro (Donati 1927, Richardson 1980 and Dillon in Venice 1981) or Battista Pittoni (Zerner 1964 and Oberhuber 1966). Borgaruccio Borgarucci published the series in 1547 with a titlepage by Bonifacio Natale. This was later replaced by that of Francesco Valesio, who probably added Schiavone's name to the plates, and these are the ones described by Bartsch.
